There are those who's understanding of the world transends the vagraties of our short brutish lives, isolated in our towns and cities, struggling for survival, living in the eat-or-be-eaten world of politics and business, and instead achieve a deeper understanding of the greater world that we are all a part of, the cycle of the seasons, the interconnectedness of us all, the struggle for survival of the natural world, the eat-or-be-eaten nature of...well...nature.

Do not be fooled, the Groves are not some bunch of tree-hugging pacifists, Nature is red in tooth and claw and to have a druid by your side is to harness the power of the natural world and unleash its fury on your enemies.

Of course Nature heals as well as harms and a Druid can bring relief from wounds and a tranquil pause that allows the body to replenish its reserves of Power, and in a case of last resort some druids can place a person into a state of hibernation to buy precious time to get healing to them when their wounds would normally be too much to bear.

Each Druid chooses one of the four Groves that represent the four seasons to belong to that best reflects their personality and calling, and this will influence the spells and abilities that they can access.  However as the seasons turn, Auxiliaries can get issued scrolls from other seasons as long as they are not from the opposite season, meaning that they can have great versatility.

In Battle Druids might clad themselves in barkskin and call upon the trees and roots of plants to tangle the feet of their enemies, or strike mighty blows with a cudgle or shillelagh, or calm wild animals and tame the beasts of the forest.
