The Heralds is a lodge dedicated to the following of civilised ideals. They believe that the true ruling power in any state lies in intelligence and who controls the flow of information. Once an independent Guild in direct competition with the Mistwalkers, its operation has been folded into this organisation.
The Heralds operates a large and successful messenger service throughout the Protectorate with outposts in most major cities, however operations in dangerous or conflict areas are limited. They can deliver messages to individuals in foreign nations but only with specific information on their location or if they are of significant stature. While delivering these messages, the members of the Heralds are trained to be observant, gather information, and to listen and remember return messages, both those spoken and those unspoken.
Members are expected to be inquisitive over facts and to make regular reports. They are expected to actively seek out secrets and report on the facts. They work closely with the Secret Service within the Brotherhood of the Palm.
Heralds often carry flamboyant clothing for official engagements, often in blue and golden yellow. They should carry the symbol of a looped horn on them even if it’s just on a small swatch or sash as well as their Guild symbol.
Auxilliaries who join this lodge are often outgoing, many playing musical instuments or entertainers in their own right, but are always watching and are expected to return with much to report.
