The main sects of the Sanctum are:
The Hammer of Evil - This is the military arm of the Dark Sanctum. Many are active and vigorous proponents of foreign war and when operating alongside other members of the Dark Sanctum often take up a commanding role. They are often known as the path of Anti-Good.
The Hand of Death - This is a deeply mystical sect concerned with the purest uses of the Evil Sphere. If anything, these are the least political faction of the Dark Sanctum being concerned mainly with the nature of the Evil Sphere and the purity of death.
The Eye of Dark Truth - It is a common belief amongst members of the Eye of Dark Truth that knowledge is the most powerful weapon. They see that the dark wisdom acquired through attunement to the mysteries of the Evil Sphere can be used as a potent tool in the accomplishment of the guild’s ambitions. Members of this path cast from the Seers spell list to peer into the future to avoid damage, or speak with those passed into the sea of lost souls.
The Black Guard - Some years ago the Dark Paladins saw the need to establish a group of warriors particularly devoted to their purposes. To this end they created the Black Guard, a group dedicated to the security and purposes of the Dark Temple. They have grown from a few dozen hardened veterans into a force of approximately two hundred and fifty well-armed and trained guards, thanks to heavy recruitment from Clearwater Provence Militia.
